Bugle August – September 2016 Page 2 & 3

From the Adjutant’s Desk

They say everything changes, nothing stays the same.  Such is taking place at your Post.  With the election of new Officers within each of our Post organizations, there are numerous new ideas of how to promote events to accommodate our members and benefit the financial status of the Post.  The E-Committee is seeking ways to improve the image of our Post.  The Post bartenders, working in a smoke free area, are now working toward controlling unwelcome slang and racial slurs.  Our Post should be an attraction to those who wish to enjoy Post events and an evening visiting with friends without unwanted distractions or abusive language.  There are being some changes proposed by the E-Committee that our members should be interested in, but the only way one can know about such proposals is if they attend the Post membership meetings, held at 5:30 on the evening of the 2nd Monday of the month.  Attendance at these meetings has be alarming low in the past.  Your Post Officers hope to see improvements in the future attendance, this is your Post, and Post Officers need your input regarding your concerns and suggestions.  Our Commander and I recently attended the Legion District meeting at the Chino Valley Post.  There are a number of interesting things transpiring at Legion National, State and Local levels, some which will be discussed at the next General Meeting held on the 8th of August.  Hope to see you there, along with a big turnout in attendance that evening.

For God and Country,

Ron Parker

Adjutant

From the Finance Officer

Hi All,

Financially we are doing well. But, we really need business to pick up, we all know this time of year can get slow at the Post. Members and their significant others are volunteering around here which is awesome but more would be great!

Check the calendar.  Looking forward to a bright, positive, prosperous year.  Remember the Finance Office is open to all members who have any questions.  I’ll be happy to chat with any of you regarding the finances of this Post. On the pillar next to the white board in the bar you can find the a spread sheet of the Assets, Liabilities & Fund Balance for month.  Please do not remove it from the post.  You can contact me at the Post 634-3004 from 11:00 – 1:00 M-W- and F if you have any questions.

 For God and Country,

Terry Czarny

Finance Officer

Sons of the Legion

Comrades,

Well, we our doing better.  Our Breakfast and Steak Dinners have gone over quilt well.  We ask for your continuing participation.  Don’t forget that the Breakfast is on the 1st Sunday of every month and the Steak Dinner is on the 3rd Saturday of each month.

We are still looking for volunteers to help out with further activities.  This is the only way to keep the SAL running.

We got the refrigerator foxed, so it will be useful for our future use.

Thanks to all the volunteers who have put in their time to help and also a big thank you to the donor who gave the SAL a generous donation.

For God and Country,

Commander

John Donahoe
